Amy's husband is the man. In June I got a voicemail from him asking if I would consider coming down to visit Amy for her bit 3-0 this year, and I immediately booked all my airfare to Texas. Matthew, who apparently isn't fantastic at keeping secrets, didn't tell a soul until two weeks ago when he told their extended family and friends and everyone kept the secret. So when I showed up Friday night, Amy was stunned!
Unfortunately Amy ended up in the hospital with a little gallstone issue last week so we spent the weekend helping her get back into the normal grove of things. But that didn't stop us from having a great time. We watched movies, ate fried green tomatoes, and shopped sales like mad women.
