Saturday morning Brooke and I left the house at 4am to catch flights to Tennessee - we're finally visiting our favorite former Oregonian/Montanan red head Lindsay!
We of course stopped at Chick-Fil-A
and went everywhere with the Travel Gnome.
These were pictures the kids took during a fund raising walk they did. They were brilliant - its what you'd expect from edgy pros trying to make an artistic statement, but instead perfectly captured by the little guys.
We got to meet lots of her friends - this is Jamie - and tour the old town.
"Coffee and Chocolate? ...Yes."
Brooke and I killed some time while Linds got some of her lesson plans done.
Then her toilet broke. Yay for great guys who save the day! (Thanks James!)
Love the headlamp
Ha! Poor guy...
Then we were off back to Nashville on Monday
The view from the 25th floor (thanks M for the great hotel!)
Brooke had a work dinner Monday night, so Linds and I hoofed it around downtown, snacking on White Castle (um, ewww for the record) before settling at Blackstone Brewery.
This is Marti. Marti was the random patron sitting next to us who joined us in a game of Yahtzee. We had a great time and he even bought us the pint glasses we wanted (thanks Marti!). (And yes, its Marti with an "i").
And this is our waiter Zach, who also joined the game in between tables.
And though this looks like we're getting a special tour, I actually believe we were being escorted out the back, away from the other paying customers.
Then we hit up Broadway, visiting the shops, watching BB King arrive for his concert, and taking in the karaoke being belted from nearly every bar.
Trying to break into the Ryman Theater
The Capitol Building
Our hotel - top floor. Its how we roll.
Country Music Hall of Fame!
Thank you Tammy Wynette
"I don't know what to do with my hands..."
The awesome concert I missed by four hours (only $25!)
Love the wall art in this state!
And of course, the Grand Ole Opry, freshly opened after the terrible flooding.
And my favorite speed limit sign ever.
Can't wait to go back!
