Last Wednesday Extreme Makeover: Home Edition showed up on the doorstep of the McPhail family family. This wonderful family started Sparrow Clubs, a non-profit organization that pairs up students with special needs kids all over the country and is changing lives. They also has two autistic boys and didn't know their friends nominated them for the show a couple years ago until recently, and were of course thrilled when the bus pulled up on Wednesday.
Brooke's dad, Ken Snelling, is the architect and he designed everything. His business partner, Rush Behnke, is the contractor and his other business partner, Donn Knokey, (Shelly's dad!) is coordinating the volunteers. So being that Brooke and I were so well connected, we had to grab Lex and head down to Medford to spend the weekend helping out.
We had a ball!
It was fabulous having connections with the architect, volunteer coordinator and VIP coordinator/Interior Designer (Carmen Whitlock). We got to volunteer, run around the job site helping on anything we wanted, and have access to the VIP perks.
Saturday evening we took a break and had an impromptu pool party at my mama's place.
Then Sunday morning we were back at it, Lex and I shingling.
We have got to snap a shot of all of us from the tower before we had to head out.
Very few celebrity sightings, but we had so much fun. And everyone is super excited for this wonderful family to get a new home.

Everyone is happily exhausted! :) Great post.
I think white construction hats look good on us. Very "industrial chic."
Also, I could get use to that VIP thing. It's nice to "know" people. We should get out and meet more people so that we know more people and then become very important people in every situation. Yes, yes, that should be our plan.
That is an excellent, excellent plan
