Skiing Copper Mountain in Colorado

Saturday morning after Lindsay and James' wedding, Brooke and I took off for Copper Mountain so Brooke could ski and I could sit in a coffee shop and read..
The trip started out innocent enough - little snow on the road, no snow falling, etc.
But about halfway up the wind picked up (apparently up to 100mph in Breckenridge), and we were caught in multiple white outs, completely stopped in the middle of the highway with our follow travelers.  We found out later that the highway closed down shortly after we passed through.

But we made it without a scratch and hit up a little place for breakfast before Brooke hit the slopes.
Brooke dropped by halfway through her runs to grab a cup of coffee and was off again.
After dinner we got to crash in Brooke's brother-in-law, Nick's, family condo in the Village, and visit with Nick and Erika again who are there for a relaxing week.
(Brooke had to get a little creative deflating the air mattress)
Then 7:30am Sunday morning was upon us and it was time to head to the airport.
Clear skies and roads the entire way!

Such a great weekend! Thanks for being my lodge buddy. It makes all the difference in the world to have someone else up on the mountain.

From wedding logistics to white out snow storms to a mini-family reunion, we sure did pack it in!

And I can't tell you how happy I am that my voice was in your head while you were driving Alicia in the ice!
