Panama - Seventh Full Day, Eighth (Last) Day

We started out our last full day in Panama City with a plan of swinging by the ruins then shopping in the old town (we decided we'd see the Canal before we left Sunday morning).  Our taxi driver, however, had other ideas.  He commandeered our plans, and it was most definitely for the better.

We started at the Ruins Museum to get a base for what we would be looking at.  Our "guide" let us know we'd only want to stay at the actual ruins for about five minutes and he was right.  The museum idea was perfect.
Our guide explained Sunday morning would be dead at the Canal, its the day they switch directions and no boats are allowed through.  He decided instead we needed to go to the Canal immediately, and highly suggested the museum there as well.
We got there just in time to see this hige luxury liner go through - perfect timing!
And the museum was excellent!

Once we finished gawking at the boats, our guide relented and let us go to the Old City to shop the open markets.
Afterward we started our walk back to the city (its in the background).
To celebrate Lex's birthday we enjoyed dinner at La Posta, a place that came highly recommended by the Mullins.
This country has crazy good seafood!
The next morning Brooke, Dominique and I ventured back to the old city to finish up some shopping.
The morning was very fun, and included a cute Italian buying me a necklace!

Seriously. I love this country.
And then it was over.  We headed back to our hotel, packed up, and caught our flight home.

This trip will most definitely be a repeat!

Huh... I feel like something else big happened on the 8th day... what was it? Blue eyes? Red beads? Yeah, something like that.
