Being Tourists in Southern Oregon

After years of talking and talking, us girls finally pulled off a Southern Oregon weekend. Brooke and I have been wanting to show our home town off for a while, and the weekend did not disappoint.  Friday night Dominique drove up from California while the rest of us drove down from Portland, all meeting at the Snelling residence in Jacksonville.

We promptly kicked off Saturday morning with coffee at The Good Bean, followed by a day full of wine tasting in the Applegate Valley.
We started at Schmidt, which has one of the most beautiful winery in the valley.
.I miss this girl.
The whole gang!
Next, we hit up Troon and bought lots of wine.
Then finished up at Red Lilly, complete with our own private tour of the facilities.
And to cap it all off, Ken grilled us up some amazing salmon for dinner.
My mouth is still watering...

Then Sunday was rafting the Rogue River.  The water was high and warm, which is very unusual, especially this late in the summer.  We didn't get very good rapids, but that didn't stop most of us from getting flipped in one of them.
After a day full of paddling in the sun, we arrived exhausted and famished at mi mama's place, where she treated us to the most tasty taco bar ever.  It was perfect, complete with three different kinds of margaritas, just so everyone got what they wanted.
Aren't we cute post river?
We then spent the rest of the evening sitting by the river, enjoying the fire Aaron built in the fire pit.

The next morning we met this guy for breakfast at Morning Glory in Ashland.  It was so fun having these girls hang out with my pops.
Then we finished up the long weekend with a tour of Lithia Park.
This trip is definitely a repeat!
