Hiking the South Island Glaciers and Surrounding Areas

Our exhausting day started by escaping the mosquitoes living in our room to breakfast, then set out on our day of tramping.  In case your mind slipped into the gutter there, rest assured, its kiwi for "hiking."

The view from St James Anglican church

Franz Josef Glacier

After scrambling all over this place, we moved on to our next location, Lake Matheson

On a nice, clear, non-windy day, the mountains reflect perfectly in this lake.

Fox Glacier

After cleaning up, we went back out to celebrate Brooke's birthday at Lake Matheson Cafe.

Roasted veggie pizza with chunks of pumpkin.  Is this perfect for Brooke or what?

And this was the horrible view we had to endure while eating.  I know, I know, but we put up with it. We're cool like that.

wow, 3 posts at once! Is that a first? You obviously had some down time.
Did you read my facebook that I get 1st class both ways on Kona trip? No extra fee/miles either! Just didn't want you to think you are the only one who gets to have fun!
Love you...keep posting!
