We heard that the place in Victoria to have brunch is this little hole in the wall called John's Place, so of course we had to try it. The place was packed and thoroughly decked out in sports paraphernalia. And the food was quite tasty.
It was a bit sad saying goodbye to Victoria, especially since we didn't spend a ton of time there, but we were super excited to get Elise on her first ferry ride!
(Wee bit of a distraction along the way)
We missed the first ferry we tried to get on by three minutes (darn farmers' fruit stands and coffee stops), but only had to wait about an hour for the next one. Then we were off, sailing bravely through international waters towards our next destination (key dramatic theme music here).
Shortly after driving off the boat towards Vancouver we realized something was greatly amiss about the traffic - something that caused it to be a complete parking lot almost 20 minutes from the city limits. We hopped on a back road and were simply delighted with ourselves for doing so. Then I had to pee - bad. Luckily we found a tiny convenience store and a very friendly owner who graciously let me use the restroom (I say graciously because he had placed an Out-of-Order sign on the restroom door for a fully functioning facility).
I was elated. The girls were elated I'd stop whining now.
We finally reached our hotel, freshened up and jumped on the light rail to grab dinner downtown.
Thai food at Salathai
After dinner we hit the road to wander around the waterfront.
I had no idea this city was so beautiful!
Um, k.
Looking forward to more exploring tomorrow!

I am so happy Brooke has her own park...and her own sign.
I have always heard Vancouver is beautiful, but if I was ever there, I don't remember it. The pics say alot though.
True to form, you blog let me know you are not starving in a foreign country.
Are you home yet?
