Snapshots: A Long, Glorious Weekend in Utah With the Reeves

Last Saturday morning, Brooke and I boarded a plane in Portland, while Dominique boarded a plan in San Francisco, all of us bound for a luxurious weekend with Tarah in Salt Lake City, Utah. We touched down around 8:30 and Brooke was immediately whisked away to Park City by Tarah's husband, Ryan, for an epic day of hitting the slopes.

Meanwhile, Tarah, Dominique and I shopped in the heart of Park City.

Mid-afternoon we met up with Brooke and Ryan for a drink and just a few servings of bourbon bacon caramel popcorn.

Like four.

Saturday night we were treated to teak dinner by Ryan, then Sunday morning we had to suffer through chocolate pecan french toast, eggs and bacon (sigh).

We spent the rest of Sunday wondering around Tarah's neighborhood, going for a run (in shorts and a t-shirt!), and ending the day with smoked chicken wings for dinner.

This is the Reeves' favorite grocery store, for good reason. We spent about and hour wandering around before spending all our vacation shopping money on various yummy food items.

60 degrees in the sun!

Monday morning we hit up Snowbasin, one of Salt Lake City's super close, world class ski resorts. I'm not really a fan of skiing. I love going up to the mountain with friends, plopping down in the lodge with a book and hot chocolate, and people watching for the entire day. But Tarah was able to secure free ski passes, and since rentals were only $20, I could get in two solid runs on the bunny hill and call it a day without one single twinge of guilt.

So I did.

Ugh, those boots! I forgot how terrible it is to walk it them.

So fun!

Tarah and Dominique felt the same as me, so we got in our two runs then headed to Needles Lodge at the top of the mountain to enjoy our books and snacks until Brooke was done throwing herself down the mountain.
